The
tale of
the graveyard haunting
While travelling through the countriside of
the Daggerfall region, I came across an isolated graveyard. Knowing that the underground
chambers of the family crypts usually serve as hiding place for some monsters (mostly
harmless for a seasoned adventurer) and hoard small treasures as well, I realized this was
the perfect opportunity to train my weapon skills and earn some money as well.
As soon as I entered the vault, I heard the screaming of a skeleton nearby and the
swinging of a door opening; probably it was waiting for me deeper inside, so I opened a
door between two white pillars and proceeded down in the crypt. The tomb was composed of a
long corridor connecting the entry hall with a couple of small rooms. In the passageway I
came upon an orc; I easily got rid of it and continued on. Beyond a locked door a skeleton
warrior awaited: my invisibility spell did not fool it and in but a moment it engaged me
in a melee. The fight was not easy, but I managed to slay the monster suffering just a few
scratches. I collected its possessions and some items lying on the ground and I came
backto the entrance.
I was about to exit the vault when I heard again that cry... was the skeleton I thought I
had slain still alive??? No, it couldn't be... After a while I realized: it must be
another one, but where??? A thorough search of the entry hall revealed an open door
exactly on the same spot of the exit. I walked closer and tried to have a look at it from
different angles and, at last, I caught a glimpse of it: there was indeed a skeleton on
the other side, but it could not reach me, nor I was able to do it; the undead felt my
presence, though, and kept on screaming in anger. I understood there was absoltely nothing
I could do and I went on my way, leaving the skeleton that haunted that place in its
secluded and unreachable chamber.

want to have a look, I put it in my homepage, in the WeirDaggerPhotos
