Be careful with the teleport!

In my countless adventures, I found out that there are many a risk connected with the use of the quite simple "Recall" spell. The first is the possibility to get trapped in the infamous Void, and I mean forever, with no chance of escape. It came to my attention that if you set the anchor in a shop or a guild that has got specific opening hours, you have never, ever to cast the spell while that place is closed, otherwise... bye, bye! You will be wrapped in darkness until the end of your days (and believe me, it can be such a boring experience!). Of course there are some methods to prevent it. First and more straightforward, only set your anchor outdoors or in buildings like temples and taverns, second and more useful, before teleporting back, cast a "Open" or similar spell, the lock of the door will be magically picked and you will enter the building as a common... burglar; even if you haven't such a spell, just being a skilful lockpicker can do the trick (up to now, I am not, but I'm quickly improving my ability...hehehe).

The second drawback of the "Recall" spell generates from a strange mixture of the Mages Guild's teleport chamber and your own spell. For example, when I am sent to a dungeon for a quest, I usually set the anchor and then go to the wizards in order to arrive there in but a blink of an eye. Once I forgot to place the anchor; the warlock in charge of the teleport had already asked me where I wished to go, when I realised I had no means of coming back. I asked him to wait a moment, opened my spellbook and set the anchor on the spot, just in front of him, then I let him teleport me to the chosen site. After completing the mission, I used "Recall" to be back to the starting place, but when I got there... there was no longer a Mages Guild. I immediately unfolded my city map: no, there was no  mistake: I was standing on the spot the Mages Guild should be.

I tried to forget about it (anyway, there are hundreds of Mages Guild's buildings scattered all over the Iliac Bay: I could simply change my "home-base") and started walking towards the Knights of the Dragon... when I bumped into an invisible wall!!! I tried to move around and found out an invisible barrier all around!!! I decided to levitate then, but soon my way was blocked by another obstacle...the roof, no doubt!!! The Mages Guild was still around me: it was only invisible!!!

I tried not to panic and thought about finding my way towards the front door, as far as I could remember it: it proved to be a nearly impossible task, but I had still a card to play: I "travelled" towards the city, and I found myself just outside town gates.

* Writer's note: of course you understood I used the "Fast Travel" option *

The first thing I did was to check whether the building was there or not; as I approached, I noticed that now it was back... visible! Anyway, this fact shook me so much that, in order to prevent you to have an experience like that, I want to give you a simple advice: when you want the mages to teleport you somewhere, MEAN IT!!!

To the next story...
