The
shipwreck
The ship sailing stead'ly proceeds to the Bay
Bearíng a load precious to Emperor's eyes
On the bridge He's standing, beholds the first ray
Of dawn brightest sunlight that cuts through the skies.
But all of a sudden, to Captain's dismay,
Black clouds above gather like a swarm of flies.
Too strong winds are blowing: the ship's going astray
Amidst th'highest waves. A thunderstorm rise!
The masts are resisting, the sails torn
instead.
Like guided by unseen hand a lightning strikes!
There's 'Boat on fire!' yelling, the flames glowing red.
The Hero's thrown ov'rboard; to stay afloat He
strives;
For floatin' log reaches, then reclines his head
And fallen unconscious He sees no more lights.
